We know planning a sailing adventure can come with plenty of questions.

Below are answers to some of the most common things guests ask before joining us.

How do I book a Water World Micro Expedition?

Simply submit an inquiry through our Contact page. We'll reach out to discuss your travel dates, answer your questions, and help you choose the experience that's right for you before confirming your reservation.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during the peak season. Our expeditions are intentionally small and personalized, so availability is limited.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your dates. The remaining balance and payment schedule will be provided during the booking process.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms will be outlined in your booking agreement. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in case unexpected changes arise.

Where do the expeditions begin?

Most adventures begin in the beautiful San Blas Islands (Guna Yala), Panama. Detailed meeting instructions will be provided during conversation.

How do I get to San Blas?

We'll provide step-by-step travel information after your reservation, including transportation options from Panama City if needed.

Do you help arrange transportation?

Yes. We're happy to assist with transportation recommendations and coordinating your arrival whenever possible.

What kind of boat will we be staying on?

You'll stay aboard our comfortable monohaul sailing vessel, your home for the adventure. Our boat is designed to provide an authentic sailing experience while offering the comforts needed for an unforgettable stay.

Are the cabins private?

Cabin arrangements vary depending on your booking. Families and private groups can reserve private accommodations, while shared experiences may include shared cabin options.

Are there bathrooms and showers onboard?

Yes. The boat is equipped with marine bathrooms (heads) and shower facilities. We ask all guests to help conserve fresh water during the trip.

Is there electricity?

Yes. We have onboard power for charging phones, cameras, and small electronics. We encourage guests to unplug whenever possible and enjoy being fully present in nature.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Internet service is limited in the islands. Many guests appreciate the opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the people and world around them.

Do I need sailing experience?

Not at all.

Whether you've never stepped on a sailboat or have years of experience, everyone is welcome. If you're interested, we're happy to teach you the basics of sailing during your adventure.

Can I help sail the boat?

Absolutely. Guests are welcome to participate as much or as little as they'd like. Learn about navigation, sail trimming, anchoring, and life aboard a cruising sailboat.

Is snorkeling equipment provided?

Yes. We provide snorkeling gear so you can explore the incredible reefs of Guna Yala. But you are welcome to bring your own for better comfort.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely. Water World was created with families in mind. We love introducing children to the ocean through hands-on learning, exploration, and unforgettable adventures.

Is this a good experience for worldschooling families?

Yes. Many families choose Water World because it combines travel, marine biology, geography, navigation, local culture, conservation, and outdoor adventure into one immersive educational experience.

Is the trip safe for children?

Safety is our highest priority. We maintain clear safety protocols onboard and ask all guests to follow crew instructions throughout the expedition.

Are meals included?

Meal inclusions vary depending on your expedition. You'll receive complete details before your trip.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. Please let us know about allergies or dietary needs during booking so we can do our best to accommodate them.

What if I've never been on a sailboat?

That's perfectly okay. Most of our guests are first-time sailors. We'll guide you through everything you need to know before and during your adventure.

What if I get seasick?

Most of our sailing takes place in calm, protected waters, but everyone responds differently. We have things on board to support seasickness, but recommend bringing your preferred seasickness remedies if you're concerned.

Is travel insurance recommended?

Yes. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, delays, and medical emergencies.
